Anne wrote: I was on lavalife to give it a spin. It was summer, I was bored, I was at home with the 'rents before moving off to grad school..figured there was nothing to lose in just meeting a few men for the heck of it. If nothing else, I'd have some funny stories to share later on. I had no idea.

Lily wrote: So like everyone met my share of strange people out there. This one started off like I was talking to a normal man. At least he passed all the questions properly. He offered to purchase an airline ticket to see him so I went. Very risky but he was kind, charming and nice.

Michelle wrote: I have been talking on the telephone to this guy for about 6 months. We shared everything, we felt that we were actually falling in love. We sent photos of each other back and forth, we talked everyday. Then we finally decided to meet. I flew to Washington DC with my sister, we got two seperate rooms that were adjoining.

T-Bird wrote: I met a guy recently who looked "really great on paper" - you know, like when you read a resume, and the person just seems to have it all together, and then you interview them (not even THAT, you just MEET them, and you KNOW it's going to be a total disaster...)

Corey wrote: Talked to a really hot woman for about three weeks through e-mail and on the phone and just couldn 't wait to meet her. Finally our schedules matched and we decided to meet at Red Lobster. I get to the parking lot first and wait. A car (the one she described) pulls up. When I see her behind the wheel my first thought is "oh God no."

Jessica wrote: When I was 15 I placed a personal ad online (I'm 18 now) and began chatting with a 25 year old business man. After talking on the phone and e-mailing each other for a few months, we decided to meet in person. I took my best friend at the time with me for safety measures and met him at the local mall. I was looking for a 6'3", blond hair, well built guy, when I was approached by a 5'7" balding 40 year old weighing at least 300 pounds.

Dawn wrote: Ok, I started talking to this guy online, he sent me a picture of him. He was wearing this really nice tux, looked really good, so I think to myself, hmm,, okay we should go out. So my first mistake was to tell him where I lived. He comes over at like 9pm on a Sat. night. I see his car pull up I look out the window to see if he's getting out of the car, and the phone rings, its him. He wont come to the door, I ask why? My apartment complex is the same one his ex lives in and he doesn't want to run into her.

CJ wrote: I'd never tried online dating before, but all those ads for lavalife and match.com gets a girl thinking. I'd just been through a divorce and decided I needed to have a little fun again. I joined up and got lots of responses, even though I didn't put my picture up on the net (for privacy reasons.) So, I met this one guy who was cute, a med school student at USC, and my age- 25. He sounded really cool, but over the phone had slightly geeky humor.

Pat wrote: I met a man online about 6 months ago. We e.mailed alot and then he called me frequently. We had, it seemed, alot in common and decided to meet for dinner. I was dropping someone off at DFW so he said he would drive to Dallas and meet me. His ad, and picture, reflected that he was 55. Well, my mouth dropped open when he drove up!!
