Not As Advertised

This was my first online date experience and perhaps I should have learned my lesson and made it my last. I emailed back and forth with this guy for a few weeks when we decided to meet. He lived a couple of hours away and I thought if he was going to go to all of that trouble of seeing me the least I could do was invite him to come directly to my home.

When I opened the door I was shocked. He was not only Not the person in the photo he had posted for his profile, he was really the most unattractive person I’ve ever met and I consider myself compassionate. I did not confront him about this deception until he’d gone home.

When I answered his next email that I no longer wanted to have contact with him he of course asked why. I said only that it was because he had lied to me and he then became indignant. I blocked his address and consider myself fortunate that he never phoned or God forbid, showed up on my front doorstep.

It’s sad when people dislike themselves so much that they have to go to such extremes to get a date.
